Interview with Maria Coryell-Martin "Maria Coryell-Martin is an Expeditionary Artist, a job title she created to encompass her unique combination of fine art, science and education. Her work is not just beautiful—and often hauntingly so—it tells stories to inspire awareness of her subjects, which include arctic wildlife and communities, and the effects of climate change on them." Writing. Blog Entry: Digitizing KCRW's Vinyl Library Article for the Reclaim Media company blog, What’s Spinning, announcing and explaining our very exciting project to digitize the entire vinyl library of KCRW in Santa Monica. We started with an agreement for half the library, 7,500 records, and ultimately digitized all 15,000 in their collection.
Content Editing + Copy Revision. Group Health Cooperative eNews Signup Form The Group Health Cooperative Department of Consumer Participation’s eNews signup form wasn’t engaging their patients and consumers, and was missing vital information. Consumer Participation asked me to revise the copy to hook their target audience and attract new subscribers. (More details in linked file.)
Editing + Proofreading. Motion to Compel Discovery (Redacted) For a Seattle law firm. My comments to the legal team show my careful, conscientious approach to editing documents in field-specific language. (Identifying details, including legal councils' names, have been redacted or changed.)
Instructions + Design. Instructional Signage: Hibiscus Manhattan Rather than hiring a bartender or trap a guest behind the bar at their wedding, our friends asked me to create a sign with instructions for the signature cocktail so that guests could mix their own. (More details in linked file.)
